FAQ’s

Where are you located?

We are located right in the heart of downtown Towson! Walking distance from the Towson Town Center, on the 2nd floor, just above the restaurant known as The Point. Look for our door in between the big beautiful windows!

Hunt Valley is located on York Road and the corner of Cockeysville Road.

Where can I park? / Where is parking?

On-street parking is available in front of the studio but does tend to fill up quickly. Click here for parking locations

Hunt Valley offers off-street parking located behind the building. Parking can be accessed on Cockeysville Road.

Do you tattoo or pierce minors?

At this time, we do not offer services to anyone under the age of 18 years old.

Yes, the Towson location does when we can accommodate them. Walk-in service is on a first-come, first-served basis. Feel free to call the studio to check availability beforehand! If we can’t get you in that day, we can always set up an appointment for a later date.

Hunt Valley is an appointment-only studio. You may book the in-person consultation for your appointment under the Hunt Valley tab after choosing your artist.

Do you accept walk-ins?

We love that you want to bring your friends or family as emotional support buddies; however, please try to limit the number of individuals you bring in. Our sitting area is comfortable but can get crowded quickly due to other artists who have existing clients waiting for their appointments as well.

Hunt Valley does have an art gallery that is available for guests to browse through while waiting for their appointment. We do ask that you limit the amount of supportive friends/family though, as the booths are set up for the artist and the individual getting the piece done.

Can I bring a guest, friend, or family member?

We always recommend dressing comfortably but try and make sure that where you are getting the tattoo or piercing can be easily accessible for the artist. Some examples as follows: short sleeves for arm tattoos, shorts for leg tattoos, etc.
If you have questions, please reach out to us and we can help you more!

What should I wear?

Yes! We would recommend a full meal before your appointment. Healing starts on the inside. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and get a good night’s sleep as well.

Should I eat beforehand?

Vacations are meant to be enjoyed, whether that be relaxing or doing fun activities! Having a new tattoo or piercing means having a fresh, open wound in a new environment surrounding new bacteria that you’re not typically around. Simply put, that can be a good way to get an infection.

We recommend getting the tattoo/piercing after your vacation. You’ve already spent time, money, and energy on planning this vacation — go, have fun, and come see us after your trip!

I’m about to go on vacation — should I get the tattoo/piercing now or wait?

Unfortunately, no. We recommend waiting to get anything new until at least 1 week after you are done taking the last of your antibiotics. We want your antibiotics to work toward the reason you are currently on them instead of changing paths or disturbing the initial purpose of taking them.

We are not medical professionals and this is not medical advice. Please reach out to your health care provider for any information regarding other questions.

I’m on antibiotics — can I still get a tattoo or piercing?

A non-refundable deposit is needed in order to book your appointment. The deposit is used to hold your date and time with that artist; this way, you are their priority focus.

We do ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you give us a call at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. Anything before 48 hours’ notice will be considered a no-call, no-show. No-call, no-shows result in forfeiture of the deposit and any upcoming appointments being cancelled.

We understand that things can happen when we least expect it — please reach out to us and let’s discuss it from there.

What is your deposit and cancellation policy?

Yes, we sure can! We know that getting a tattoo or piercing can feel intimidating or even scary at first. We are here to help you as best we can with any concerns or questions you have. Don’t be scared to reach out to us by calling the studio at 443-449-7872 or by emailing us at layer3collective@gmail.com
